Oval clear lenses have every appearance of being original. Lenses are free of any noticeable scratches. All pins and screws are tight and secure - no cracks or repairs. Mellow old color and surface. A medium gauge silver. A pair of eyeglasses by Edmund Hughes, #428, are in Garvan Collection at Yale University. Marked E.HUGHES inside arm next to hinge. First letter 'E' slightly rubbed. Also marked 14 on outside left arm near hinge area. Extending arms move freely and easily. A little play in the hinges, as is common. Length across front: 4-5/8". Length of arms fully extended: 6".
